Austin Knights Pathfinders

About the Club

Pathfinders is a church-centered recreational and spiritual program, designed for both boys and girls, grades 5 through 10, which offers action, adventure, challenge, and group activities that produce team spirit. Pathfinders are sponsored by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and all are welcome to join and learn with us.

The name of our Pathfinder Club is the Austin Knights Pathfinders, and we are located at 4301 Kelly Ln, Pflugerville, TX 78660. Our Pathfinder program for the year typically starts in August and ends in June for the summer break. We meet bi-weekly for regular meetings on Saturdays and some Sundays for additional training that cannot be accomplished on regular meeting days such as setting up camping equipment, etc.. The club participates in many outings and outreach activities that can be viewed in our Pathfinder Calendar. Check below for our pathfinder calendar and choose the current year to view the activities planned for the year.

What We Do

The pathfinder club aims to develop Christ-like leaders who in turn will disciple children and youth for Christ. We accomplish this by offering a wide range of grade appropriate activities that:

  • Promote community pride and involvement through outreach activities
  • Awards accomplishments through honors programs in a variety of recreational, artistic, nature, conservation, vocational, and outreach areas such as a camping honor, or a swimming honor
  • Empower leaders through effective trainings that equips then for service

Outreach

Outreach is an essential part of Pathfindering. Our goal with outreach is to have each Pathfinder impact one person for Jesus. We are showing them that they don’t need to be preachers or teachers; they can show the love of Jesus by sending a card, a cheerful handwritten note, an uplifting quote or simply being kind to someone they meet.  Some of our outreach activities include visiting the Heatherwilde Assisted Living community, where the Pathfinders sang Christmas carols, prayed, and did a drilling and marching demonstration for the residents.

Fundraising

International Camporee

Pathfinders participate and raise funds for the International Camporee which occurs every 5 years. It is one of the most exciting youth events around the world and our Pathfinders look forward to attending every time it comes around.

To raise funds for the camporee, Pathfinders have worked at Sweet Eats Fruit Farm, hosting a movie premier fundraiser, and working on New Year’s Eve to raise money. The Lord has truly blessed our efforts, but we still need your help!

Pathfinders in the Church

You may notice our Pathfinders serving around the church by doing things such as, taking up offering, leading out as praise team during Divine Worship, as well as assisting with the Breakfast Ministry.  Please support our Pathfinders by saying an encouraging word when you see them helping. You can also support the program by volunteering one hour to teach an AY (Adventist Youth) honor by sharing a skill you have learned with them.  Help them pass on a legacy of kindness, hospitality, industry, and ethical responsibility.
